breakfast at 'home'

by Wednesday, 06 April 2011

Its not everyday you get to have breakfast like this.  At least not me anyway....

The first thing I saw when I woke up in the morning was this awesome breakfast prepared courtesy of my grandmother.

I've not had bamboo in a looong time so it was most pleasant.  What made the dish though was what is called 'Kinome'.  It translates to about 'Sapling' and is a young  Japanese pepper leaf.  It tastes like the forest just woke up in your mouth.  It is wonderful.
