night photography (no flash)

I find wide open aperture intriguing because (if you can get it done right), the results are fantastic.

Below are two examples of a unique Volvo P1800s I found recently.

Both are very beautiful cars, but I find that the second photo turned out much better because of ambient lighting.

Even at F/1.2 there is a limit.

The second picture turned out perfect thanks to the ambient lighting. (Camera Raw does help too)

Although the next two photos are completely different lighting situations, it clearly shows the importance of ambient lighting.



I think I'm going to give the Nikkor f/1.2 a rest for a bit.  See what happens next.....
